Cookies

This site may record anonymous patterns of website use for the purpose of helping us understand how users interact with our site and how we can improve it to make it more engaging.

This website uses cookies (small text files (with no executable code, stored by a browser on your computer or device). It may also use third-party tools that also use cookies (e.g. YouTube).

We use Google Analytics to track anonymous traffic data. This helps us evaluate how the site is used and to improve the user experience. We also use Google Signals, which compiles multi-platform data reports on Google users that have enabled personalised advertising in their Google accounts. For instance, it can create data models showing patterns of use by a single user across different devices. These reports are pseudonymised to ensure anonymity so we can’t know the identities of individual Google users. You can opt out of personalised advertising on Google’s My Activity page.

You can opt-out and have your activity be excluded from records kept by these sites with the following link:

Users in regions with applicable laws will be invited to give explicit consent for cookie use and use will be disabled without such consent. You can revisit your choice at any time using the ‘Cookie consent‘ tab at the bottom of pages on this site. Users can also block cookies or delete any existing cookies by changing settings in their browsers. See links below or search for instructions for your specific browser.

Should you contact us or donate to support our work, your information will be used for the purposes of replying and/or receipting and will only be shared with other people or organizations who need to know it as part of working with us in our normal business activities.

If you want any personal information changed or deleted or would like to more information, please contact us at info@friendsofbushheritage.org. This site is the property of Friends of the Australian Bush Heritage Fund.

    Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

    Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
