[Santa Cruz, California. September 17, 2024] — Friends of the Australian Bush Heritage Fund enthusiastically announces we’ve teamed up with the Karrkad Kanjdji Trust to expand our conservation efforts in Australia. This new partnership, alongside our long-standing relationship with our founding partner Bush Heritage Australia, will help us make an even bigger impact in protecting Australia’s unique landscapes and wildlife.

The Karrkad Kanjdji Trust is known for its fantastic work in conserving the Northern Territory’s special ecosystems, supporting Indigenous people to live on and manage their ancestral homelands. By aligning our efforts, we’ll be able to expand our reach and tackle more conservation challenges together.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Karrkad Kanjdji Trust into our conservation family,” said Jennifer Smith Grubb, Executive Director of Friends of the Australian Bush Heritage Fund. “Their expertise and dedication will help us protect even more of Australia’s iconic natural landscapes so rich in biodiversity, while preserving Indigenous cultural heritage, making it possible for First Nations people to care for Country by helping with education, investing in women, and supporting management of  fire and climate change impacts. We’re keen to work together to expand awareness and support here in the U.S for these admirable goals.”

This partnership means we’ll be able to leverage our collective resources and share our knowledge, allowing us to fund a wider range of projects and make a bigger difference for Australian conservation. From safeguarding endangered species to restoring critical habitats, our combined efforts will have a lasting impact.

“The chance to work with Friends of the Australian Bush Heritage Fund is an exciting step for us,” said Stacey Irving, CEO of Karrkad Kanjdji Trust. “We look forward to joining forces to protect Australia’s incredible wildlife and landscapes.”
